The family is uniquely situated to impact efforts to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of rural
women and girls. Speakers will present insights from their practical experiences working with families in areas
that affect rural women and girls’ empowerment, such as maternal health, children’s education, economic
development, and agricultural policies. They will also explore how these programs can make families partners in
achieving gender equality and empowerment in light of the SDGs.
