Addressing Population Decline: The People Solution to Social Progress

For the virtual event on February 19, 2026, the NGO Committee on the Family (NY) invited experts to speak on the urgent issue of population decline and its impact on all aspects of social progress. It was an opportunity to learn more about making the case for people.

Speakers:

Dr. Mike Geruso, Dr. Geruso  is an associate professor of economics at the University of Texas at Austin, and coauthor of the national bestseller After the Spike: Population, Progress, and the Case for People. From 2023 to 2024, he served as a senior economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers, advising on issues related to health, population, and economic policy. Geruso holds bachelor’s degrees in engineering, political science, and philosophy from Virginia Tech, earned his PhD in economics from Princeton University, and completed postdoctoral research at Harvard University.

Mr. Dan Hess: is a pronatalist researcher, speaker, writer and Father of 6 children. He maintains the popular pronatalist account @MoreBirths on X and MoreBirths.com.
